I’m Moving!

Wow, July was a chaotic month. Most of it was good chaos. I released Riwenne & the Bionic Witches in my biggest launch yet. (Thank you to everyone who bought and read my books during the big sale! I wouldn’t have done it without you.) I started writing Riwenne & the Airship Gambit for Camp Nano (but didn’t meet my goal). I spent a week with my family having a lot of great times. And now that it’s official, I can announce the biggest change.

I’m moving!

August isn’t a great time to move because it’s so hot, but we’re taking a month to overlap between both houses so we can pace ourselves and do it carefully. I’ve been in my current home for ten years, the longest I’ve lived anywhere, so I’ve had a lot of time to accumulate junk in my packrat way. (By the Chinese Zodiac, I was born in the Year of the Rat.) I’ve already started sorting through things to see what I can get rid of. It’s like a treasure hunt to find long-lost things in the back of the closet or the garage.

Despite all the work, I’m really excited to be moving into a newer, bigger place. Some of the great improvements I’m looking forward to are a dedicated writing space for me, more bookshelves to fill with books, and a swimming pool! I will be living farther away from the ocean than I’ve ever been, but this mermaid won’t dry out. It’s been a lifelong dream to have a pool of my own and I still can’t believe it’s finally coming true.

This does mean that I will be busy for the next month or so and I’ll have less time for writing. I’ve already had to sacrifice time, so I didn’t complete my Camp Nano goals last month. I will make time because I still plan to release Airship Gambit on October 7. But secondary things like this blog, social media, and my reviews for SPFBO books will be more sporadic.

The best source for updates is always my newsletter. Rest assured that if you don’t hear as much from me, I’m still working hard and I will come back happier and reenergized when this move is completed.
