Genre: YA Paranormal

Rating: 5/5 stars

This is a great anthology with a wide variety of vampire tales. Each one is a fresh take on vampire myths from talented YA authors, and there are editors’ notes after each one to reveal which myths were used. Everything from bells on graves to an exploration of vampirism and disability. And the characters and setting are diverse, from lesbian teens in the southern U.S. to desi vampires in India.

I got the anthology for “First Kill” by V. E. Schwab, which was awesome (and so is the Netflix series based on it!), but the other stories were just as good. Anthologies can be a mixed bag but there wasn’t a story I disliked in the whole bunch.

I recommend this collection to anyone who likes teen vampire stories and wants to see the range that the form can take. Especially with diverse representation.
