This month, I was inspired by the new releases from Wonton in a Million! They had two new sets: Sakura and Ninjas. Since I used a Sakura theme last month, I thought it would be fun to try Ninjas. And I had the perfect set of stationery already to add.
But first, here’s the wrap-up for March.
I read eight books in March and kept up my reading streak. I haven’t missed a day yet this year! But where I really read a ton was on Kindle Vella: 159 episodes. There were so many that I needed two pages to fit them all! If you haven’t checked out Vella yet, I highly recommend it. The first three episodes of every story are free so you can find out if you like it. As you can tell, there are quite a few stories that have me hooked as I keep coming back to them.
(Note: one of these, the Codex of Mechanical Dreams, isn’t on Vella. You can only get it by subscribing to Jimena I. Novaro’s newsletter.)
Unfortunately Vella is only available in the U.S. so some authors post their stories in other places, too. I share mine on Patreon. This month was the first time I had a Super fan subscriber! Super fans get a handwritten letter from me. I used the same stationery as the reading journal to write my special fan a personal letter.
Now on to April! I’ve had this Hello Kitty ninja stationery set since 2007. It’s unusual because instead of a usual chubby white cat girl, Hello Kitty is drawn as a stick figure so she can do cool ninja acrobatics.
I also added Wonton in a Million’s ninja washi tape. When I get more stickers from the new set in the mail, I can add more decorations to this spread.
As usual, I’ve also added a list of some new releases for this month. The one I’m looking forward to the most is Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse. It’s the sequel to Black Sun, which I finished recently. Look for my review of that book later this week.
Finally, here is the first book for this month. It’s not one I will be reviewing separately so you can see it here.
I’m looking forward to reading more great books and Vella stories this month!
